Once the core link is back, the NOC opens INC-9002. Someone plugged an unmanaged desktop switch into SW-ACC-02 in Rack C-02 (Row C, the far aisle) and it negotiated a trunk over DTP, so the access layer is drowning in broadcast. The port LEDs on the 2960 flicker amber instead of green.
show mac address-table. One port learning 180+ MACs is your rogue.interface gi1/0/12 Select the rogue port (after conf t)
switchport mode access Kill the DTP negotiated trunk
switchport port-security maximum 2 Cap the number of MACs the port may learn
switchport port-security violation shutdown Err-disable the port if it happens again
storm-control broadcast level 10 Rate limit broadcast to 10% of link speed
write memory Save to NVRAM. The fault clears on save.
The BMS reports CRAC-02 with no input power and the hot aisle behind Row D climbing. Every minute it runs the D row cooks a little more.
show environment Inlet / outlet temperature and PEM status on the router or switch
show logging The last syslog lines the NOC collector received
